Kier nabs £65m Fitzrovia mixed-use job
An 86,000 square foot mixed-use project on London’s Tottenham Court Road has been approved for Kier.
With a project worth of £65 million, the contractor has begun work on developing a site to comprise more than 65,000 square feet of commercial space, 11,000 square feet of retail space, and 9,000 square feet of residential space.
The Fitzrovia development is situated close to Tottenham Court Road’s brand-new Elizabeth Line station, which opened in May. The overall development will cost £200 million, and Kier has just been selected to serve as the project’s lead contractor.
In order to get a Breaam excellent certification for The Fitzrovia, developer M&G Real Estate will employ offsite construction techniques to reduce the building’s carbon impact.
In order to further improve the sustainability of the completed project, the contractor will additionally install solar panels. A third-quarter 2024 completion date has been established for the project.

“This method will bring major sustainability advantages for the local community by lowering the quantity of carbon utilized in the construction programme while minimizing waste on site and the need for deliveries,” he continued.
The project’s development manager is CO-RE.
The effort Kier is making to increase its portfolio in the area of mixed-use redevelopment got a boost in June when its developer arm, Kier Property, created an £80 million joint venture with investor Homes Growth Partnership for the purpose of developing affordable housing.
